Maps is the one that chose this name and when I called it showed this used to be called that. So just know it is called The Grand now.
Very nice people that run I believe this place used to be called the The Westerner it is now calked The Grand Motel. We went to the Grand Motel in Nebraska on August 21, 2017 to view the Eclipse that went across our great Country. This was a full Eclipse and my husband Steve & I witnessed the Totality that lasted about 1 minute and half. After we arrived we visited Mount Rushmore with our three Rottweilers, and actually took our Rottweilers in at Mount Rushmore to enjoy the park instead of leaving them in the car. It was an exception, mainly because one is a service Dog. Very nice trip. I do have to say the room was roomy, but the beds are not the most comfortable beds.... The owners we very nice an accommodating when we ask for a fan, just for noise. They have central air conditioning. The beds were like Motel 6, just a place to go to sleep. I myself have a bad back, so I need more comfort or I have a hard time resting, but I just used pillows. I has gotten this room at an excellent rate considering what it would have cost It was a month before, I was lucky to get it at this good of rate. Most places were anywhere from $169.00 - $369.00 for that date, most places were booked 2 years before I was told by my brother-in-law. The Eclipse was so Great and it beat sleeping in the SUV with 3 Rottweilers or in a tent.... I hope I am graded in the right place, cause they do have a place called The Westerner.

Do not ever stay at this motel! Really, I am telling you to pay a little more money and stay somewhere nicer. When first arriving in the room it smelled like mold. When pulling down the sheets for the evening I noticed as a person that has experience working in hotels that the sheets were not washed and there were crumbs and hair in it along with toenails in the other bed! EWWWWWWWWWW I mean why?!??! So, I went to the front desk immediately to report and the front desk attendant told us we were put in a "makeover room". Ok why in the world would anybody want to be put in a makeover room?! She moved us to another room which according to her was a remodeled room. Now why weren't we put in the remodeled room right away?! So we complained further with management and they were extremely rude especially when voicing concerns, because we don't want it to happen to anybody else. I am serious other reviews on this website make it sound wonderful but, the truth is its the worst and nobody should be allowed to stay here. Just say no pay a little more so you don't end up with diseases from a cheap room seriously it could happen.
