Expensive prices and shoddy connections
The joy of living in a small town. You have two choices for internet and they're both terrible. I think they know you have a lack of choice and that's why they are so expensive with terrible services. The customer service is the absolute worst and the internet service is subpar and overpriced. I hope they go out of business or something better comes around. Avoid this company if you can but like I said you may not have a choice.
When another cable company backed out on our scheduled appointment and pushed it back three weeks, I called great plains after 5pm. I was able to set up services instantly and just pending installation. They worked with my tight schedule to get us set-up!
Great Plains Communications needs to learn a thing or two about customer service. They've got a pretty good tier 1 system for answering your initial calls, but don't expect for them to solve a complex Internet connection problem. After a month and a half of what amounts to me trying to get a tech to determine if I need a new modem or not, I have given up on Great Plains and am switching over to CenturyLink. The good news is that I will will go from paying $57.95 a month to paying $29.95 for comparable service.
